Upcoming Belly Dance Events 2010 29 April. International Dance Day. 30 April – 2 May Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival. Generally considered the premier dance festival event in Australia. www.sydmedfest.com Workshops and events. Exciting news is that our professional dance troupe 'Totally Hip' auditioned, and has been invited to perform in the concert at the Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival this year. The SMED is considered the premier bellydance festival event in Australia and we are really honoured to have been chosen to strut our stuff. The Totally Hip troupe members are Kiley, Daphne, Donna and Annie. Last year Daphne taught a workshop at the SMED - so we are really making a mark on the bellydance scene. 8th May – World Bellydance Day. 15th& 16th May – workshops with Sahara at Gold Coast. Concert on Sat evening. Hosted by Elenie. 29th & 30th May. Workshops with Margaret Cunningham in Gympie. Sat night hafla. Hosted by Anita Ferguson. 4th – 7th June. WAMED Festival in Perth. Workshops & concert. www.wamedfestival.com 12th June - Mid year hafla by Zena’s Bellydance at Tin Can Bay. 6 pm. 19th-20th June – Workshops with Ayelet, Jamil, Saahirah, & others. Ipswich. Concert Sat night. 24th June – 1 July. Ahlan Wa Sahlan festival in Cairo, Egypt 3rd – 10th July – Winter Warm Up in Brisbane. This year’s teacher is Aida Nour of Cairo. 17th July, 6.30 pm - Shimmy Showcase at Maryborough. We have been invited to perform. 20th-22nd August - Workshops in Sydney with Dina of Cairo. Dina is considered the top bellydancer in Egypt and internationally. Hosted by Anita Ferguson 31st October (Sun) 10am – 4 pm Pyramid Pulse in Brisbane. Various bellydance schools performing. 21st November 2009 - Arabia On Show starring the Beautiful Bella Bellydancers, was a night of filled with glitz, glamour and gorgeous dancers thank you to everyone who attended and help us raise money for the restoration of the theatre. And a huge thank you to the beautiful girls who made our show complete!!!!!
